Dairy Feeder – Equipment Operator
Coomboona, Northern Victoria

We are looking for a Feed Technician to join us at our progressive and innovative dairy farm near Shepparton, Northern Victoria. This opportunity is for a skilled machinery operator who is passionate, highly motivated, dependable and has an eye for detail. Experience with machinery is essential. WHV holders welcome to apply.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Operating large machinery to mix and deliver feed to our livestock
  • Working to scheduling guidelines
  • Operating machinery safely
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

The successful applicant will possess:

  • A strong work ethic with good time management skills
  • Good communication skills with a strong team spirit and a commitment to attendance and punctuality
  • The ability to follow protocols and adhere to safety standards
  • Q Fever immunity, or must be willing to undertake a Q Fever test and immunisation

Herd Health Technician - Gooloogong

The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced veterinarians and Herd Health Technicians within the AFMH Group, this full-time hands on role is part of an enthusiastic team that are passionate about the wellbeing and care of our cows.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Monitoring of transition, fresh and milking cows and diagnosis of common health conditions
  • Daily health checks utlising CowManager rumination sensors
  • Assessment and treatment of hospital and special needs cows
  • Record keeping and data entry of all health treatments and events

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Prior livestock experience essential
  • Experience in dairy herd health programs an advantage
  • Veterinary qualifications or veterinary nursing experience an advantage
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across the farm
  • An eye for detail and accuracy with numbers and records
  • A passion for animal care and wellbeing

Dairy Hand – Gooloogong

We are looking for multiple Dairy Hands to join us at our progressive and innovative farm at Gooloogong. This opportunity is for someone who is highly motivated, dependable and eager to learn.  Experience and/or agricultural studies is preferable, but not mandatory as full training is provided.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Undertaking all aspects of the milking processes to ensure milk quality outcomes are achieved
  • Operating gates and parlour equipment
  • Set up and wash down of parlour

 

The successful applicant:

  • Must be willing to undertake a Q Fever test and immunisation
  • (if required)
  • Must have a current driver’s license with access to own transport
  • Will possess a strong work ethic with the desire to be part of a growing business
  • Will have strong communication skills with a strong team spirit and a commitment to attendance and punctuality
  • Able to follow protocols and adhere to safety standards

Q FEVER IMMUNITY

 

It is a requirement of roles located on farm that you:

  • have been vaccinated for Q Fever; or
  • can demonstrate immunity; or
  • intend to complete vaccination for Q Fever prior to commencement of employment.

 

It is highly recommended for roles that are not located on farm to be vaccinated for Q Fever, as you may be required to attend the farm during the course of your employment.

 

NOTE: Successful applicants may apply for reimbursement of their Q Fever vaccination related costs after completion of 4 months of continuous employment.
